Call for Nomination to serve on ISOC Lebanon Executive Committee

ISOC LB newly elected Administrative Board is accepting applications from candidates interested in serving on the ISOC Executive Board as Heads of Committees and Members at Large. 

In 2013, five positions on the Executive Board are open for appointment.

Vacancies

The following four Heads of Committees will be appointed by the Administrative Board:

  • Chair of the Programs Committee
  • Chair of the Memberships Committee
  • Chair of the Fundraising Committee
  • Chair of the Communications Committee

The following Member at Large will be appointed by the Chair:

  • Chair of the University Clubs Programs

ISOC-LB Executive Board is responsible for the governance of the organization, and its authority is derived from the organization’s by-laws and policies. The Executive Board consists of 11 members that are either elected by ISOC-LB electoral body or appointed by the administrative board. Executive Board Members serve a two years term:

Time Commitment

Executive Board members are expected to commit the time necessary to perform regular Board and committee business. Executive Board membrers are also expected to allocate time to attend and prepare for meetings. ISOC-LB Board holds one Board meeting each month, one General Assembly per year, and two to four members’ gatherings per year.

Eligibility

Candidates for ISOC-LB Executive Board Membership should be ISOC-LB members (preferably voting members) have demonstrable involvement in the Internet.  Candidates should also have the following qualifications:

  • Good understanding of the governance and policy  
  • Good understanding of the Internet technology and business
  • Previous Board experience or organizational leadership experience is a plus
  • Skills in business management and leadership
  • Ability to raise funds for not-for-profit organizations
  • Not-for-profit experience
  • The ability to identify relevant ISOC-LB projects and obtain funds or other resources to accomplish them
