Lebanon’s Knowledge Economy Preparedness-2013

ISOC-LB presented “Lebanon’s Knowledge Economy Preparedness” at Data & Investment Consult Lebanon conference on May 10, 2013 (9:30 to 11:30 am) at Crown Plaza Hotel, Beirut.

Abstract: Is Lebanon’s competitiveness in the knowledge economy and overall potential of knowledge for development improving or regressing? We will assess Lebanon’s performance on four pillars of the knowledge economy: Economic Incentive and Institutional Regime (EIR); Innovation and Technological Adoption; Education and Training; and Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) Infrastructure. We identified several key challenges and the most critical is the lack of national vision and strategies to established Lebanon as an emerging Knowledge Economy powerhouse.
